The kids are lovely who are playing with soil. However, it’s getting more and more difficult to see this kind of delight scene.

The total fertility rate, which shows the number of kids a grown woman can have her entire life, hit the record of 0.78 last year in South Korea, which is a historic low. It doesn’t even reach the half of the OECD average rate, 1.59.

Why has this kind of phenomenon happened? A recent study shows that only 4% of 20 to 34-year-old unmarried women consider marriage and childbirth to be necessary in life. A shocking thing is that 53.2% of women think that marriage and childbirth is not important.

God has put a beautiful glory in marriage and birth. God says a wife as a fruitful vine and children as olive shoots(Psalms 128:3). In ancient Israel, a fruitful vine became bountiful happiness and olive trees were beloved because people could get olives, medicine, and the oil for lamps. When people get to know that marriage and birth generates a lot of happiness and love, the earth will flourish and get fertile.

God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.”(Genesis 1:28_ESV) [gnp news]
