“Let’s pray.” Kids hide their eyes with the hands tight when the worship leader begins to pray, which looks cute and makes our heart moved. Chad needs desperate prayers.

Chad was independent of France in 1960 but it has been called ‘the dead heart of Africa’ due to its long civil wars and corruption by the tribe leaders’ greed for power. Christianity in southern part and Islam in northern part have been pitted against each other for 30 years, which is the main cause of the continuous civil wars. In 1982, 40,000 people were killed by the tyranny and terror of Habré who came to power in a coup, and there were successive acts of terror caused by ISIS and the Islamist Boko Haram in 2015.

Furthermore, in 2020, an Islamic armed group attached the Chadian army locating around a lake and 100 Chadian soldiers were killed. The prayer is desperately needed which, with Jesus’s heart, will cover Chad, ‘the dead heart of Africa’ which is now covered with the shadow of death. I hope the precious blood of Jesus who survived the death and revived will be spread throughout the whole land of Chad thanks to the earnest prayer by the people.

“… in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.”(1 book of Peter 1:2_ESV) [gnp news]
