The Perfect Church in Jesus Christ (6)

“But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.” (Galatians 4:4-5)

God used a method called ‘atonement’, which is beyond human understanding. In righteousness, He had someone worthy pay our debt on our behalf. Through an inexplicable and seemingly illogical method, He provided the only way for both Him and us to be justified. This is called the ‘righteousness of atonement’.

We, who cannot justify ourselves, have been made righteous for free by God’s grace due to the justification found in Christ Jesus. As there is no other way besides this, Jesus personally paid all our sins and delivered judgment through Jesus Christ. It was the most perfect grace of the Lord. And He left a portion behind. He made Jesus a reconciliation sacrifice through His blood by faith

I did not personally repay the debt of sin. However, for us who believe, we can fully embrace by faith the merit of someone who repaid it on my behalf and in my stead, and accept what happened to him as if it happened to me. In essence, when Jesus died for my sins and faced judgment, He bore my name and took my place, and it is by faith that we believe that when He died, I, who was unchanging, died with Him. Therefore, I must surrender myself to death in faith, and now, it is not I who live, but Christ who died and rose again for me. I must give all authority of life to Jesus Christ and accept the new life He offers.

It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives within me. Finally, He has set me free from the curse of sin, allowing me to attain the standard of God, reflecting God’s image. He enables me to live as the holy people of the Lord, free from sin and victorious.

At the time of the first creation, God spoke it into being. However, when it came to our salvation, God the Father sent His only begotten Son to this earth as a human. He was born of a woman to fulfill the righteousness of the law, took upon Himself the curse of the law by dying on the cross, and accomplished the entire process up to the resurrection. God so loved the world in this way that He ended our old life, which had been sold to grave sin and became at enmity with God at its very core. He accomplished a task more challenging than the creation of the heavens and the earth.

By my own efforts, I have achieved nothing. However, I must believe and partake in faith that what Jesus Christ accomplished on my behalf is as if I achieved it myself. Jesus’ death is my death, and Jesus’ resurrection is my resurrection! Never again shall sin have dominion over me, and never again shall the law condemn me. Now, only Christ lives within me as the master, allowing me to love only God, follow the truth, and live a life that belongs to heaven. The Lord has prepared this immense gospel that seems like a dream and says, “Just believe”. (July, 2018) <Continued> [ Gospel Prayer News]
